Breweries in Paso Robles

Most people end up in Paso Robles for wineries or for the Mid State Fair, but one of our best kept secrets is our beer! Whether you're looking for an awesome IPA or a sour, we have some solid breweries in the area. Let's talk about one of my favorite topics—beer!

Silva Brewing

The owners of Silva Brewing make some great beer! Chuck and MJ moved to the Central Coast from San Diego to help our budding brewing industry. In fact, Chuck was one of the head brewers at world-renowned San Diego brewery, Green Flash. The beer here is some of the best in the area if you're looking for a Hidden Beer Gem.

Favorite Beer: Laughing Pecker IPA Vibe: Sit amongst the brewing equipment and talk to the brewers yards away while they make the beer.

BarrelHouse Brewing Co.

This is one of my favorite places to meet friends for a beer since they have a huge outdoor beer garden with multiple stages. The beer is on point, especially if you like a large variety of beers. The best part about the brewery is its location in the heart of Tin City. Tin City is an industrial district with over 20 small producers from sheep's milk ice cream to homemade pasta. Everytime I go to Tin City, I spend hours wandering around.

Favorite Beer: Big Sur IPA

Vibe: Large brewery with a super fun outdoor space hosting several stages and usually a food truck.

California Coast Beer Co.

This is one of our newest breweries around, and it does not disappoint. Located in an old auto shop they have really done an amazing job transforming the place to industrial meets western. The outdoor area gives you great vistas of East Paso, as well as being right on the train tracks. What’s even better is that it shares its outdoor space with Iron Oaks Winery—where western meets wine.

Favorite Beer: Pale Ale

Vibe: Old auto shop converted and modernized to a brewery with a cool view of east Paso.

KiloKilo Brewing Company

A Hawaiian themed brewery on the Central Coast? Yes, please! This brewery is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Tin City. One of coolest things about them is all the collaborations they have done with breweries throughout California including the famed Alvarado Street.

Favorite Beer: Passionfruit Bunker

Vibe: Fun laid back pacific island vibe with an indoor brewery and barrel room as well as a shipping container beer garden around the corner.

Earth and Fire Brewing Company

The quintessential garage brewery. Nolan (the owner) is not only a great person to chat with about beer, but his beer is great, too! It’s a hidden spot, located just a stone’s throw from Downtown Paso. The perfect place to chill and enjoy a brewski.

Favorite Beer: Hip Hop Anonymous

Vibe: Smallest brewery in paso but has a really cozy vibe with a lot of new beers coming out all the time.

Firestone Walker

The biggest brewery in our area has become famous for the 805 beer. Firestone has helped a lot of local brewers spin off and create their own local breweries. The best part of is how many different beers they put out from sours to barrel aged. If you are looking for some great food and ageable beers this is the spot.

Favorite Beer: Santa Lucia IPA

Vibe: Largest brewery in paso with a great restaurant. Gets super busy on weekends with people using it as a pit stop on the 101.
